چکیده
Aim of study: Soil compaction causes an increase in bulk density, resistance to penetration, low diffusion oxygen and water the soil. Tillage is one techniques alleviate compaction. The objective this work was evaluate effects tillage on sweet pepper grown greenhouse soil.Area experimental conducted a plastic at Experimental Station University Almería (SE Spain).Material methods: soil ploughed with single pass ripper 15 cm depth rotavator 10 depth. control treatment untilled. Crop dry matter production root length growth density were evaluated, addition characteristics such as penetration matric potential.Main results: reduced from 1.70 1.60 kg L-1 10-40 There notable reduction irrigation (12%), total N applied (13%), drainage (91%) leaching (95%) treatment. However, did not improve significantly crop yield. absence effect possible due slight soil.Research highlights: produced irrigation, applied, when compared control.

Antioxidant activities of two sweet pepper Capsicum annuum L. varieties phenolic extracts and the effects of thermal treatment
Objectives: Sweet peppers Capsicum annuum L. (C. annuum) are an excellent source of vitamins A and C as well as phenolic compounds, which are important antioxidant components that may reduce the risk of diseases. The objective of this study was to evaluate their antioxidant activity under various temperatures. Materials and Methods: To compare the antioxidant activity in various temperatures (2...
متن کاملOvipositional deterrent on mature stage of sweet pepper, Capsicum annuum, against Liriomyza trifolii (Burgess).
Liriomyza trifolii (Burgess), the American serpentine leafminer fly, is a well-known serious pest in the world. This insect species attacks plants of more than 21 families including Solanaceae plants. A sweet pepper, Capsicum annuum (Solanaceae), on mature stage, however, shows resistance to this leafminer fly. This resistance is based on the ovipositional deterrent in the sweet pepper leaf aga...
متن کاملEffects of Different Cooking Methods on the Antioxidant Properties of Red Pepper (Capsicum annuum L.)
We investigated the effect of various cooking methods (boiling, steaming, stir-frying, and roasting) and three cooking times (5, 10, and 15 min) on the antioxidant properties of red pepper. Raw and cooked peppers were measured for proximate composition, ascorbic acid (AsA) content, total carotenoid content (TCC), total polyphenol content (TP), and 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and 2,2'-a...
متن کاملThe Antimutagenic and Antioxidant Effects of Red Pepper Seed and Red Pepper Pericarp (Capsicum annuum L.)
In this study, we examined the antimutagenicity of red pepper seed and red pepper pericarp ethanol extracts using the standard Ames test in the presence and absence of S9 mix. The extracts showed inhibitory effects on both the TA98 and TA100 Salmenella Typhimurium strains against the mutagenic activity of promutagen 2-aminoa nthracene, and were also protective against the directly acting mutage...
متن کاملSweet Pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) Canopy Photosynthesis Modeling Using 3D Plant Architecture and Light Ray-Tracing
Canopy photosynthesis has typically been estimated using mathematical models that have the following assumptions: the light interception inside the canopy exponentially declines with the canopy depth, and the photosynthetic capacity is affected by light interception as a result of acclimation. However, in actual situations, light interception in the canopy is quite heterogenous depending on env...
